Install OBS Studio 30 On Ubuntu / Linux Mint
There are two methods for installing OBS Studio on Linux:
- Method 1: Using Official PPA
- Method 2: Using Flatpak
Method 1: Using the Official PPA (Recommended)
Step 1: Add the PPA to your system’s package sources
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio
Step 2: Update the repos and install obs-studio
sudo apt update && sudo apt install obs-studioMethod 2: Using Flatpak
If you prefer not to use the PPA, you can opt for the Flatpak method to install OBS Studio
sudo apt install flatpak && flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
Install OBS studio from flatpak
flatpak install flathub com.obsproject.Studio
To launch OBS Studio, run the following command
flatpak run com.obsproject.StudioThat’s it! OBS Studio should now be installed and running on your Linux machine.
